Today I would like to take a few minutes to show you how to look up Facility Violations, Citations & Ratings for assisted living and nursing homes for the State of Florida.
I first went to the “MyFlorida.com” site – which is the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, and within this site, I found their “Nursing Home Guide” which has a very user-friendly map of the State of Florida.
(I will put the full URL for this page at the end of this video)
From there, I was able to find ratings for many facilities in the State of Florida.
As an example, let’s click on Region 2 – Tallahassee.
I’ll choose The Bridge at Bay St. Joe. A window will come up with a great deal of useful information.
I was able to find information about this facility’s Overall Inspection, contact information for the facility, types of care provided, payments accepted, and inspection details.
In addition, at the bottom, you can find explanations and clarifications about how performance was measured, and explanation of inspection scoring.
Fortunately, this facility rates pretty well. I did find a number of them that did not get very good ratings, and this may be helful information for you as you are researching your care options.
